Parish Hall
The hall is ideal for wedding receptions, family get-togethers, anniversaries, birthday parties, exhibitions and shows . It is also regularly used by many local groups during the week for a variety of activities such as Ki Aikido, Table Tennis, Painting Classes, Parties, Club Meetings and Music for the Mind Cafes.
The Parish Hall is located in the centre of Harnham at Lower Street, Harnham, SP2 8EY. The Parish Hall was extensively refurbished in 2022/23 and redecorated in 2024. Solar Panels were installed in February 2025. Further improvements are planned for 2026.
The Hall has a large paved private car park for around 30 cars with large parking bays relined in 2025. It has a nearby bus stop for the r5 regular service from the centre of Salisbury. The Hall is a short picturesque walk across the Harnham Water Meadows from Salisbury Railway Station. All the sevens taxis service is a near neighbour as well as the largest taxi service in Salisbury.
The Parish Hall, the Parish Hall Field and/or its rooms can be hired privately when not used by the many local community groups that host their activities in the Hall.
Join a Group
About 20 different community groups regularly meet in the Parish Hall for a wide variety of activities ranging from Arts & Crafts to Dancing to Music for the Mind to Table Tennis and Martial Arts. All groups welcome new members so please use the contact links to join a group.
Please contact the PCC Secretary if you want to start or suggest a new group or community activity at the Hall.
Private Hire
The Parish Hall has two rooms – the Large Hall and Field View. These are available to hire individually or together. Details for each room are set out on the next pages.
Current bookings are shown on the booking calendars shown on the next web pages for each room. Please note that there may be provisional bookings being processed that may not be shown.

The Parish Office at the Parish Hall is open most Friday afternoons (except Bank Holiday weekends) between 15.00 and 16.30 for anyone who would like to explore the Hall and discuss their needs for their event.
Typical timings for large (week-end) events
Most parties in the Parish Hall are for 3 to 5 hours and typically it will take an hour to set up (tables, balloons, banners, drink and food preparation etc) and an hour to clear and clean the Large Hall.
Lunch, tea and childrens parties tend to be shorter (around 3 hours) and evening parties tend to be longer (around 5 hours). Weddings that combine a Wedding tea followed by a dinner and dance typically book the entire Parish Hall for the whole day.
Typically hirers budget between £180 and £300 for a party with Wedding events approaching £500.
Guest Wifi is available to all hirers. The PA and loop hearing system in the Large Hall has twin bluetooth connectors so you can easily stream or play your own music at your private party.

Hire fees
Our standard hourly hire rates are:
- Large Hall £36
- Field View £18
- Both rooms £45 (ie 50% discount on Field View)
- Parish Hall Field £18
- Parish Hall & field £54 (ie 50% discount on Field View and Parish Hall Field)
The hire rate for either room incudes shared use of the commercial grade kitchen as well as tables, chairs, crockery and cutlery for 80 people. There is also no additional charge for parking in the Parish Hall private car park. The Parish Hall is not staffed so these hire rates assume that you will set up tables and chairs before your event in the Large Hall and return them to their storage locations afterwards.
Hirers frequently book the Large Hall and Field View ( rate discounted 50% from £18 per hour to £9 per hour) to ensure dedicated use of the shared kitchen and a quieter area for family conversations or as a place to lay out food.
Provided it is not been used by the Scouts, hirers can also hire the Parish Hall Field (rate discounted 50% from £18 per hour to £9 per hour) to the West of the 1996 extension that contains the shared kitchen and Field View.

Chargeable extras include:
Use of the Parish Hall field (excluding the Scout’s green space), setting up and storage of equipment and materials for regular users, use of large electrical powered equipment (eg Bouncy Castle).
