The acting Bishop of Salisbury, on behalf of the Team Patronage Board, is delighted to announce that Revd Canon Becky Roberts has been appointed as Team Rector of Bridport. We had a thorough appointment process last week and it became clear at the end that Becky had all the necessary gifts and skills to take the Bridport Team into its next stage of ministry.’

Becky’s last main Sunday service in Harnham will be in All Saints on 13 September at 10am. Becky and Neil will be moving to Bridport shortly thereafter. Becky will be instituted and inducted as Team Rector of Bridport on Tuesday 6 October at 7pm. Do come along if you can to either of the above services.

There will be an extraordinary Annual Parish Meeting in St George Church on Sunday 16 August 2026 after the 10am morning service at which churchwardens will be formally elected (as no one stood on 31 May). Nomination forms can be downloaded here.
The churchwardens’ role is to ensure that services continue well, buildings are looked after with the guidance of the Archdeacon, Louise Ellis.
In due course, the Archdeacon will also advise on the way forwards, taking into consideration the wider context of the Salisbury Deanery, the ability to pay parish share and the context of the Harnham locality and wider mission especially with the growth in population.
